100 tonner for Henneberger

German rental company Henneberger Schwerlast has taken delivery of a 100 tonne Liebherr LTM 1100-5.3 All Terrain crane, the first in its fleet with the Liccon3 control system.

The five axle crane features a seven section 62 metre main boom plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway, which can be offset to 40 degrees and provides a maximum tip height of 68 metres. It is equipped with the Liccon3 control system, a Stage V diesel and Liebherr’s VarioBase and VarioBallast systems. It can carry up to 16.9 tonnes of counterweight within 12 tonne axle loads and has an overall width of 2.55 metres.

The crane will be predominantly used for industrial building construction, machinery moving and the erection of electricity and radio masts.

Company owner, Mario Henneberger said: “We can use the LTM 1100-5.3 very flexibly as a ‘taxi crane’, as it can carry a large proportion of its counterweight whilst within 12 tonnes axle loads, allowing us to carry out many of the jobs we do without having to use a separate vehicle for transporting the ballast.”

“The lightweight design of the LTM 1100-5.3 makes it easier for us to obtain road permits - even across federal states, as we operate in Thuringia, as well as in Bavaria and Hesse. We can even reduce the axle loads to less than nine tonnes and a gross vehicle weight under 45 tonnes, which can be an advantage on bridge weight restrictions.”

Founded in 1991, Henneberger is based in Themar, northeast of Frankfurt near Erfurt, with further locations in nearby Zella-Mehlis and Schmalkalden. The company runs a crane fleet with All Terrains up to 300 tonnes, and a number of large loader cranes. It also has a substantial heavy haulage business
