Cramo to Boels
Boels Rental has announced that its northern European operations, which currently trade as Cramo: Finland, Norway, Sweden, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, will begin a gradual transition to the Boels brand. Boels expects the entire process to be completed by 2030.
The Boels’ orange livery will be adopted for all new or repainted equipment and vehicles, along with company signage and stationery, etc...
Astatement from Boels said: “The transition will be carefully managed to ensure continuity for customers, employees and partners.”
Chief executive Pierre Boels added: “This change is a natural next step for us, and combines Cramo’s strong local presence and customer relationships with the scale, expertise and capabilities of the Boels Rental group.”
“For our customers, that means more equipment, more speciality solutions and more expertise without losing the personal touch they know. Simply put: one brand opens the door to more.”
The current Cramo business can trace its roots back to 1953 in Finland and 1956 in Sweden. The Cramo company was originally Swedish, having started out as Oresjö Fabriker and later changing its name to Flexator. The Cramo brand arrived in 1969, and at one point the company’s largest shareholders were Caterpillar and Dutch Cat dealer Pon.
The Finnish Cramo company dates from 2005 when Sweden's Cramo AB took over/
merged with Finnish rental company RK (Rakentajain Konevuokraamo) and became a Finnish public company. Over the next 15 years, the combined businesses expanded rapidly through acquisitions across Northern Europe and the Baltic states. See:
Cramo will be the name. Finally, in 2020, Cramo was
acquired by Boels.
