Big Buoy

Port Services (Invergordon) has completed the Load out of 450 tonne buoy for FPSO mooring systems. The buoy was offloaded at Invergordon in July See record lift for modification work to be carried out.

The Gottwald AK680 places the 450 tonne buoy in the water

Port Services teamed up with Sarens UK which supplied its Gottwald Akl680-3, while Port Services supplied a 500 tonne, a 250 tonne, two 120 tonne and an 80 tonne crane to assist with the lift.

This completed a project that the logistics company has been working on with Saipem/Sonsub all year.

AK680-3 was rigged with 53 metres of main boom, 200 tonnes of super structure counterweight and 450 tonnes of superlift counterweight. The total load with rigging was 470 tonnes which had to be lifted to 28 metres radius.
