Selwood makes it two

Southampton, UK, based Selwood Plant has acquired Proplant of Cardiff, its second acquisition in the last two month. In July the company acquired Glo Hire and sales from its administrator, taking it into the powered access market.

Proplant was established in 2001 and operates from locations in Cardiff, Swansea, Milford Haven and Bristol. Its product range includes telescopic handlers and other general equipment and has 40 employees.

Glyn Charles and Paul Rowsell, the founders of the Proplant are remaining with the business as part of the deal, as is the rest of the Proplant team.

Selwood group managing director, Chris Garrett said: “When we knew there was an opportunity to acquire Proplant, Selwood was very keen to be involved in the process. The Proplant business has a very strong brand in Wales and the South West and the combination of our businesses offer some great opportunities to us. We are not reliant on achieving cost savings from the combined operation to make the acquisition successful”.
