Al Laith which has been established in the Middle East since 1995 employs 1,000 people and operates a powered access fleet of 300 machines all purchased in the past two years. The company has four separate operating divisions which include Mast Climbers, Zip-Up Aluminium Towers, Contract Scaffold, and plant and tool hire.

Simone Scalabrini, general export manager for Oil&Steel was keen to point out that “the company wanted to enter the Middle East market with a structure in place and to work with a partner who would provide stability and a future for the products”.

The initial contact between the two companies was made at Bauma in 2006 when Al Laith expressed an interest in establishing a full sales and support structure in the UAE for a truck-mounted range. Tim Richards, Al Laith’s powered access manager particularly liked the “smoothness and engineering” of the Oil & Steel products.
