Man dies after truck hits platform
An engineer in Gloucester County, Washington, USA died yesterday morning after he was catapulted from the platform of his aerial work platform, after it was hit by a passing truck.
Donald Miller, 64, of Deptford was part of a work crew repairing a traffic signal around 10:20 a.m. in a truck mounted platform between two lanes of traffic.
According to police, a Comcast truck driven by John Tarricone, 42, of Westmont, traveling east on Greentree Road collided with the platform, causing a catapult effect in the platform which threw Miller to the ground. It is almost certain that Miller was not wearing a harness, which might have saved his life.
Miller was taken to Kennedy Memorial Hospital where he later died.
