Martz appointed VP Sumitomo

Link Belt chief executive Chuck Martz has been appointed as a vice president of Sumitomo Heavy Industries effective April 1st.

Sumitomo is the owner of Link-Belt and Martz is the first executive of a U.S. subsidiary to have reached such a senior level within the Japanese company.He was appointed as chairman of Link Belt earlier this year, replacing retiring chairman, T. Nagano.

Martz joined Lexington, Kentucky based Link-Belt in 1975 shortly after graduating as an accountant from the University of Kentucky. He held various accounting and financial positions before reaching the position of vice president, finance and administration in 1990. In 1994, he was appointed vice president manufacturing and then executive vice president in 1997. In September 1998 he was became president, adding the chief executive title in 2007.
