Wyss back at Stirnimann

Alfred (Al) Wyss has come out of retirement to head up Swiss crane and access company Stirnimann, following the departure of MD Lorenzo Cassani earlier this week.

Wyss, 65, was chief executive of the Olten based company which is the Grove and Potain distributor for Switzerland, as well as operating one of the countries largest tower crane rental fleets.

It also distributes JLG and Teupen aerial work platforms.

Wyss retired in 2007 handing over to Cassani, whom he recruited for the job, he remained on the holding company board of directors in a non executive capacity. Stirnimann has not commented on the reasons behind Cassani’s departure.
