Ian James joins Bronto

Bronto has appointed Ian James, previously of APS, as its sales director for the UK and Ireland, James will work directly for Bronto operating from his Leamington Spa base.

Speaking to Vertikal.Net at Platformers Days in Germany today, James said: “I am excited about working with Bronto and I know I can do well with them. I love the industry and it is nice to be working with a company who produce such high quality products and are highly professional”.

Jan Denks of Bronto added “The most important thing in business is trust, while a strong knowledge of the product and the industry is also a major asset of course. I have known Ian for nine years and am certain that his appointment will help Bronto put the foundations under tomorrow’s success."

“We have over 300 employees at Bronto - 250 in Finland and a further 50 around the world, and always try to emphasise that Bronto is an extended family in the way it is run”

The UK and Ireland operation is also supported by Alan Cowper of Nordic Access (previously of Blue Line and EPL) providing parts and after sales service on an exclusive basis, while Ray Foster (also ex Blue Line) has set up his own engineering workshop to carry out larger repair works including structural repairs.

James has worked in the powered access business for many years, starting with Grove Manlift and moving to Bronto dealer Blue line and then his own business - Delta Rentals, previously the Manlift Toucan distributor in the UK.

He joined APS the Omme, Snorkel and Hinowa distributor as general manager in 2005 but announced that he was taking ‘time out’ from the industry earlier this year.
