Bobcat up another 30 percent
Ingersoll Rand parent of Bobcat, the Skid Steer and Telehandler producer, saw revenues rise by over eight percent and margins improve for the first quarter of 2004
The Infrastructure Sector which includes Bobcat along with golf carts and other compact equipment posted a revenues increase of 21% to $727 million compared to $599 million in the first quarter of 2003. Operating margins increased to 12.6 percent, compared to 10.9 percent in 2003.
Bobcat compact equipment outshone the rest of the Infrastructure sector, increasing revenues by more than 30 percent compared to last year, due to new product introductions, improving North American markets, and the benefit of a weaker U.S. dollar. This follows a 32 percent increase in revenues for the full fiscal year 2003! Bobcat margins improved as well, reflecting volume gains leading to productivity improvements and the benefit of the low dollar.
Bobcat now claim a three to five percent share of the world Telehandler market
