New lifting gear supplier

A new company has set up in Stockport, Manchester, UK, offering lifting and working at height safety equipment.

The company, Safety and Lifting Solutions has been established by Carl Oldham, to specialise in the supply of a wide variety of height safety products, hydraulic equipment, hoisting and winching apparatus to industries including construction, engineering and the health and safety sector.

Oldham decided to go it alone after he was laid off from a major UK rental company. “I was made redundant at a very unstable time in the construction industry and I knew it would be hard to find a similar job at my previous level. I spent a lot of time researching and found that although construction has slowed down – safety is still paramount,” he said:

“Over the past few months, I’ve noticed that companies are returning to sites that have been put on hold and the industry is definitely picking up momentum again. It’ll take a while to get back to the buoyant times of the property boom, but it’s looking good and I’m confident it will return in the coming months.”

“Sales have been steady and we’re moving into the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) sector now –due to customer demand -sourcing high quality goods and selling at competitive prices – gone are the days of high prices, but when it come to safety you can’t risk purchasing inferior equipment.”
