AFI appoints major site co-ordinator

UK based access rental company has promoted Alec Ullmer to a new role with responsibility for contractors on two of Europe’s largest construction projects -the Olympic Park and Westfield Stratford City retail and leisure development.

Ullmer is currently AFI’s southern regional sales manager and has taken on the new role following the opening of the company’s new London City depot at Leyton - within just 1.7 miles of the Olympic Park.

He will be the principal AFI contact for both sites and will work closely with AFI’s major projects manager John Robertson to increase awareness amongst contractors of AFI’s rental, service and training facilities.

Ullmer, who has nearly 20 years’ experience in the powered access industry, joined AFI six years ago. He said: “I’m delighted to be taking on this new role and being involved in these major projects. Health and safety is of paramount importance to contractors and with our London City depot being so close to both projects and our capability to offer accredited training potentially on a 24 hour, seven day basis, we are ideally positioned to meet the needs of contractors.”
