Hird on the rise
Yorkshire, UK based crane and access company Peter Hird & Sons has added a new Genie Z80/60 to its fleet and boosted its range of training programmes through RTITB.

The Genie Z80/60
Phillip Moss, access director, said: “We needed to expand the number of larger booms in the fleet in order to service our ongoing customer needs and it shows our commitment to pushing forward in these testing times, the next machine we have in our sights is the Genie 135/70”
At the same time the company’s training division has become a consortium member with the RTITB. And as such is able to deliver a number of modules to enable heavy goods drivers comply with the new requirements under the driver CPC.

The modules include Drivers Hours, Tachographs, Health and Safety as well as Safe Vehicle Operations and Loading. The courses can be run in blocks of seven hours to suit the client or can be taken as a week course of 35 hours. All modules are approved by the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT).

Richard Dainty, training manager said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this course to the transport industry. The modules we will be delivering are all industry based with particular emphasis on specific operating environments which are relevant to all commercial drivers.”
