More military orders for JLG

JLG has received an initial order to build 26 telehandler based Engine Installation and Removal Vehicles (EIRV) for the U.S. Navy. The deal is worth around $4 million.

The JLG EIRV aircraft engine placer


The EIRV will be used for placing or removing engines on many common aircraft, including the P-3, C-2, E-2 and C-130. It has a lift height of 12.5 metres, a horizontal reach of 8.8 metres and a lift capacity of 6,000lbs/2,721kgs. The contract will be manufactured in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania.
Denny Buterbaugh, vice president of government products and programs said: “The machines state-of-the-art hydraulic system provides the precision necessary for placing and removing engines on a wide variety of aircraft”

The JLG AtlasII


The deal follows a $41 million US Army order announced at the end of last week for 311 JLG more 10,000lb/4,500 kgs All Terrain Lifter Army System (ATLAS II) telescopic handlers.
