Aerial lift prices set to rise again

Aerial work platform manufacturers are looking for further price increases in 2013 to counter rising material costs and in reaction to strong demand.

Genie has already announced and confirmed that it is looking to implement price increases in January 2013 that will proved an average 3.4 percent increase. It claims that this barely covers the higher material prices that have come through this year and that are forecast for the start of 2013.

JLG also referred to rising material costs offsetting the pricing and volume gains that it has made so far this year.

While price increases are not something anyone likes, they will help boost prices of used equipment, presenting an opportunity to move out older machines and bring in new models with more features and possibly lower running costs – as long as the finance is available of course.

Higher prices can/should also help keep rental rates on the up and raise the entry threshold for newcomers, which most rental companies will see as a very positive thing.

If price increases are not for you though, there is still plenty of opportunity to order and purchase machines now at the current pricing levels and beat the increase.

This is the very reason why everyone using Scissor lifts must look at Dingli. although made in China they contain no parts that are not availalbe off the shelf in the UK. Threy use parts that you are used to from your existing manufacturer!! BUT; the price is a lot lower, and there is stock.
