GT Access acquires Swift Access

UK-based powered access rental company GT Access Ltd has acquired the assets of Stoke-based Swift Access for an undisclosed sum.

The deal for Swift – which went into administration last Friday – includes its only depot in Stoke and 149 machines (mainly scissors) which will now form part of an expanding GT Access fleet that totals 550 machines.

All the staff and services at the Stoke depot will be retained and extends GT Access’ coverage from its existing four depots in Bromsgrove, Telford, Gloucester and Hereford.

“This deal extends our geographic coverage and adds a sizeable amount of platforms to our fleet,” said Jonathan Till of GT Access. “We will be investing in about 25 Genie booms to give a more balanced range of equipment available from the Stoke depot.”

Earlier in the year, GT Access acquired Hereford-based Plat4ms which took its fleet to about 400 machines. The latest addition takes GT Access into 13th spot in the Top 30 access rental companies based on last year’s figures.

Comments

Having spoken to the administrators, it seems the above article is misleading. It is only the assets of Swift Access that have been purchased - so no hope for all those genuine creditors out there of getting any of their money back.
