Jekko adds lithium power
Spider and pick & carry crane manufacturer Jekko has introduced a high power lithium battery pack for four of its smaller crane models, including two spider cranes and two pick & carry units.
The machines – the 1.2 tonne SPX 312, the 2.4 tonne SPX 424 spider cranes, plus the MPK20 two tonne pedestrian controlled pick & carry crane, and finally the five tonne MPK50 remote controlled crane/glass handler.

Jekko's Eco crane range
They are already available with lead acid battery packs, but as an option can be ordered with an Eco Scienlab lithium ion battery pack which is said to extend the battery life by two or three times with a continuous operation of between 3.5 and four hours, longer of course in typical use. The units can also be charged while being used on battery power- something that is naturally more practical for the spider lifts.

The lithium battery pack can also be re charged in a third of the time and are said to have a working life of eight to 10 times longer, providing full power throughout their life. Finally, maintenance costs are substantially lower. The downside? – the higher up front cost of course.
We hope to report more back on the new Eco models from Intermat.

I don?t see anny comment from our lithium opponent.
Is that because it concerns a crane and not a mewp? Or is he finally convinced ?
