The ladder, the van and a big cable
Spotted by a reader in Manchester, UK, in late April a man who looks to be accessing the roof of a building that is in a poor state of repair, using, what appears to be a six metre, single stage wood ladder placed on top of his van.

As if this is not already an bad enough example of poor practice he appears to have specifically placed the ladder alongside a substantial looking overhead cable, and is carrying some sort of fabric over his shoulder, we can only hope that it is not a live power cable.

His van seems to have a roof rack, so he is using it as a stopper - doesn't mean it cant go sideways but that'll be the problem even if he had a long enough ladder to go from the floor, or in fact worse because on the floor there wouldn't be anything to act as a stop.
and gideon is right, the shadow is to over to the right of the picture, and as from the shadow of the man, the sun is basically directly behind them, rather than to the side.

He is not under the cable. The shadow of the cable is a long way over from the shadow of the ladder.
