UK rental companies in play
As 2014 draws to an end it looks as though ownership of at least three, if not four, of the UK’s largest rental may change as we go into 2015.
Ever since October - when news broke that the investors in UK crane rental company Ainscough Crane Hire were looking to sell their stakes - there has been a significant rise in activity, as funds with money to invest look at getting in on what they see as the lucrative and growing UK rental market.
With analyst activity picking up rapidly in November and the start of December, it looks as though there might be a race on to close at least two of the deals before the calendar year end? All the companies concerned have significant fleets of cranes, telehandlers or powered access and are 'players' in the markets that we cover.
But then… it may all come to nothing and settle down again, if so it would not be the first time, and certainly will not be the last. What it does show is how bright the future of the UK rental market looks.
As usual we will aim to let you know as soon as any deals are formally concluded.
I'm investing in a lot of White and red paint for this deal.
