Crane tips in Warsaw
A truck crane tipped over in Warsaw, Poland yesterday after the ground completely gave way beneath one of the outriggers.
The crane, a three axle truck mount, was working in a small street in the city when the road surface gave way. Local reports suggest that recent heavy rains may have undermined the road sub structure, essentially creating a void into which the crane fell. Thankfully no one was injured in the accident.

The photos suggest that no significant outrigger mats were used and that the outrigger beams on the side that collapsed may not have been fully extended.
As 250 tonne crane is apparently en route today form Southern Poland to recover the stricken crane.
