Delta Rentals take on JLG line

Delta Rentals of Honiley, Warwickshire, has been appointed as the JLG dealer for the East Midlands area of England. Delta which is a sister company of Blue line access, is run by Ian James.

The company was established in order to sell the Toucan range of mast booms, which was conceived and originally produced by Delta lift of France, before being sold to Grove.

In order to help promote the mast boom concept, Delta Rentals made units available to UK hire companies on a re-rent basis in the hope that after building up a customer base they would start to purchase their own units.

Under Grove ownership, Delta had the distribution rights for the whole of the UK, the future distribution rights have been up in the air since JLG took over in April.

The two parties have now agreed that JLG UK will take over the UK wide distribution rights, but Delta will become a regional dealer for all of JLG’s aerial products. With a strong end user base, Delta will benefit from adding JLG electric scissors, booms and portable lift ranges to its portfolio.

Being responsible for fewer sales to large rental companies, Delta will also have more freedom to expand its specialist access re rent fleet.

Ian James said “While we would have preferred to have retained the full UK distribution rights for the Toucan range, we understand JLG’s position and feel that the new arrangement will provide us with plenty of opportunity to expand our business”
