New directors for Lavendon
Lavendon, Europe’s largest powered access rental company has appointed
two new non-executive directors - Jan Åstrand and Andrew Wood both of whom will join the board next week.
Jan Åstrand, 63, a Swedish national, is currently a non-executive director of Northgate Plc and was chairman of CRC group until January 2007. Prior to that he was chairman of Car Park Group AB in Stockholm and a senior independent director of PHS group. From 1994 to 1999 he was chief executive of Axus (International) Inc. (previously known as Hertz Leasing International), and from 1989 to 1994 he was chief financial officer of Hertz (Europe). Jan Åstrand will also join Lavendon’s audit, remuneration and nomination committees.

Andrew Wood, 59, is currently a non-executive director of Davis Service Group, the previous owner of HSS. He was group finance director of BBA Aviation, before retiring in April this year. Prior to that he was group finance director of Racal Electronics. He is a chartered management accountant and will become chairman of Lavendon’s audit committee and a member of the remuneration and nomination committees.
