Chippindale orders Manitou

Leeds. UK, based Chippindale Plant has ordered 25 Manitou telehandlers from Manitou dealer, BTE Plant Sales of Markfield, Leicestershire.

The family-owned business - headed by Nigel and Peter Chippindale – now has general equipment fleet of over 2,000 items with depots in Keighley, Catterick, York, Sheffield and Huddersfield.

The order includes the 12 metre MT1235S, 18 metre MT1840, seven metre MT732 and the new six metre MT625 compact machine.

“Plant machinery specification has advanced significantly over the last ten years and the improved operator comfort and safety features are all positive advantages for the end user plus the increased versatility,” said Nigel Chippindale.

“Manitou is an excellent example of this principle of product development. We have more than thirty years experience of Manitou recognising the need for rough terrain forklifts on building sites in the early days and have evolved our telehandler fleet to higher lift heights and more compact models."

"The current market trend is based on tight cost control, with customers hiring lower lift height machines at the earlier build stage and the higher ones for the latter stages involving three storey developments and above.”

Our choice of Manitou is also a commercial decision, it is a major global player and this reflects in the residual value of the machines. The strength of build of also ensures they last longer and are more reliable.”
