GT Access acquires Plat4ms

UK based powered access rental company GTAccess Ltd has acquired the assets of Hereford based Plat4ms Ltd for an undisclosed cash consideration.

The Plat4ms business will now trade as GTA Plat4ms within the Hereford area and owner Brian Preece is joining GT Access as Hereford branch manager all other staff are also to be retained.

The move takes the GT Access fleet to over 400 machines operating from Bromsgrove, Gloucester, Telford and now Hereford.

Jonathan Till of GT said: “This is a very good move for GT Access, giving us the ability to give a high level of service across a wider area. We have seen an amazing increase in demand across our existing depots in the last three months and feel that country is well on the way to recovery, so the timing of this acquisition is perfect”

Preece added: “We have worked closely with GT Access for a number of years and becoming part of a bigger organisation will strengthen us locally with the ability to offer a wider range of machines across the midlands and with association with the Access Alliance throughout the UK”

GT Access was the 25th largest aerial lift rental company in the UK according to the Cranes& Access 2010 Top 30 rental company survey. The addition of the 60 or so units from Plat4ms would take the company to 19th place - assuming there have been no otherr changes since.
