Mike Evans and Lavendon call time

Industry veteran Mike Evans will end his long term relationship with UK based rental group Lavendon this summer.

The two parties have mutually agreed that the current consultancy agreement will not be renewed when it expires at the end of July. Evans first joined Lavendon in 1994 as a director of its Nationwide Access and Access Solutions businesses. In 1995 he set up the Nationwide Access truck mount division - Skylift, which became market leader within two years.

He later managed the company’s key account team along with a number of other business development roles in the UK and overseas. He left Lavendon in 2005 to set up Mike Evans Consultancy and was retained by Lavendon on an exclusive “non - compete” basis to run and manage several key business areas, including major projects, non-construction and power sector initiatives

Prior to joining Lavendon he was a leading player in the UK access rental industry as managing director of PTP before heading up the GKN Powered
Access division for David Price, who was to later to organise a management buy-in of Nationwide, forming Lavendon as the holding company hiring Evans immediately after the GKN access rental business was sold.

In addition to his work with PTP, GKN and Lavendon, Evans was for many years an IPAF and CPA council member and has been a major contributor to the powered access industry in general.

Following the end of his contract which also marks the final stage of the integration of the various components that make up Lavendon Access Services, (Lavendon UK) Evans will be free to pursue other powered access industry opportunities.

Richard Miller, speaking on behalf of the Lavendon management team said: “On behalf of Lavendon I would like to thank Mike for the huge contribution he has made to our company and the industry as a whole he is a very well respected ‘access man’ and we wish him every success in the future.”

Evans added: “I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges at Lavendon and working with a great team and fantastic customers. I would like to wish the business and its employees every success for the future. I do hope that I can find new assignments in the future though, as I feel I have too much energy and a lot to offer the industry to hang up my boots just yet”
