Crane overturns near Brooklyn
A barge based crawler crane working on a bridge on the Belt Parkway near Brooklyn Marine Park tipped over yesterday, dumping a quantity of fuel into the water.
The crane was working from a barge owned by Lomma crane of New York, which we understand also owns the crane.

The crane was lifting pipe sections when something gave way flipping the crane onto its side. It remained on the barge, although the boom came down into the water.
The Coast Guard was called out to supervise the recovery.
In 2010 James Lomma, of Lomma and New York Crane was charged along with his mechanic Tibor Varganyi with manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide in the deaths of crane workers Donald Leo and Ramadan Kurtaj following the fatal collapse in 2008 of one of Lomma'ss tower cranes.
The charges were upheld in February after Lomma attempted to have them dismissed. The trial is likely to begin some time this summer.
