New lift for tree surgeon

UK based South Bucks Tree Surgeons of Thame, Oxfordshire, has purchased a new CTE ZED26J.

The family run business was established in 1976 and now employs 10 staff, carrying out commercial and domestic types of work. It has operated an aging Zipper 20 for many years and decided that it was time to acquire a new platform which it can also offer out on rental.

After looking at a variety of products the company decided to go with a 26 metre CTE ZED26J articulated boom on a 7.5 tonne Isuzu chassis, with 14 metres outreach and 230kg platform capacity.

Managing director Neil Macbeth said: “the new unit is great for street work, the Isuzu chassis is a compact, easy to drive unit, with a tight turning circle, so very adaptable for city working. We have been the main contractor to Bucks County Council for 30 years, and carry out a large amount of arboriculture work for local authorities, who are increasingly expecting contractors to comply with ever more stringent working at height and other health & safety related issues.”

“While a major financial investment, we see this as a real bonus for our business and the beneficial safety for our workforce when they need to work at height, very often in trees with rotten limbs, unsuitable for climbing”.

The ZED26J includes a dual sigma riser, telescopic boom and articulated jib, with 360 degree continuous slew and zero tail swing in all configurations.
South Bucks Tree Surgeons specified a variety of storage boxes, a tow hitch in order to tow a wood chipper and cab protection from falling debris.
