Some of the Reach-stackers for Venezuela

Cargotec’s sales director Emilio Martinez said: "We are very proud to be selected as a key supplier of equipment to Bolipuertos and to secure such a ground breaking order. As the organisation expands and standardises its fleet it is extremely pleasing that the performance of existing Kalmar equipment and the support we have provided to date has resulted in this significant deal and the continuation of our excellent working partnership."

Headquartered in Caracas Bolipuertos is a government ministry responsible for the operation of the ports of La Guaira, Puerto Cabello, Guanta, Maracaibo, El Guamache and La Ceiba. Bolipuertos already runs a fleet of over 100 reach-stackers and other associated equipment, including a large number of Kalmar models.

According to Cargotec, it is the customer's experience with these existing Kalmar machines, along with the service and support from its local dealer, Comercializadora Tecnaval directed by Gustavo Steinberg, which has secured the order, as Bolipuertos looks to standardise its fleet with one provider.

The new additions are intended to both expand the fleet in light of a growth in Venezuela's import trade and also to replace some older models.
