Wumag snow plough

With wintery weather approaching, UK-based rental company Blade Access Specialists is maximising utilisation if its new 4x4 Wumag WT 350 truck mounted platform.

By fitting a snow plough to the front of the truck and towing a gritter, it has transformed the access platform into a complete winter service vehicle. With both the plough and the gritter using quick release fittings the unit can easily be converted from a snow clearing device back to an access platform.

“The excellent traction offered by the MAN 4x4 chassis assisted by the access platform boom weight, makes it a truly unique snow plough allowing access to places that were previously unreachable,” said Blade’s Mark Bell. “To date it has been used to clear supermarket car parks in the worst affected areas and has generated interest from local councils to clear more remote roads where conventional snow ploughs struggle. With harsh weather usually being the cause of cancelled or postponed hires, this is certainly one way of ensuring a great return on investment!”
