Four 70m Brontos for Summit

Brisbane, Australia based rental company Summit Tower Hire has taken delivery of four 70 metre Bronto Skylift S70 XDT's.

All four units are mounted on all wheel drive Scania P360 8x8 chassis which, says the company, allows them to reach the most difficult of places.

The new lifts have been acquired and specified to serve the power, telecommunications infrastructure and mining industries. The latest delivery brings the Summit fleet to six Bronto S70XDT units, one 61 metre Bronto S61XDT, along with a 60 metre Barin AP60/30 unit. All of which are equipped with power to the cage and high pressure water washing capabilities.

The four machines are not all painted in the same colour scheme, in fact one of them is bright pink and nicknamed ”The Pink Panther” it is turning heads up and down the east coast of Australia.

Summit's Pink Panther Bronto S70 XDT


Summit Tower Hire was formed in 2010 with the idea to bring truck mounted work platform solutions to the construction and maintenance industries in Australia. The chairman is Mike Wilton who built up Melbourne based Moorland Hire, before selling it to Boom Logistics in 2007. Nigel Soden, a health a safety manager within the rental business, is chief executive and Peter Wellspring, a Bronto expert and skilled machine operator, is national operations manager.
