New head of innovation at Manitowoc
Manitowoc crane has appointed Jens Ennen as senior vice president of engineering and innovation, responsible for developing the culture of innovation and new technologies.
He will also work with his team to improve processes and engineering best practices throughout the entire crane organisation and work closely with regional executive vice presidents and global marketing to develop successful products that fulfil the needs of Manitowoc customers. Ennen will report directly to Eric Etchart, president of Manitowoc cranes.

Jens Ennen
Ennen is based at the company’s Wilhelmshaven plant in Germany, where he was previously director of engineering for mobile cranes. He joined Grove with its acquisition of the Krupp crane business in 1996 which was based at Wilhelmshaven (Grove was then acquired by Manitowoc in 2002). Since then
he has worked in various engineering and engineering management positions.
He plans to relocate to the Grove plant in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania this
summer.
Etchart said: “In addition to Jens’ advanced degrees in engineering, he has a strong focus on execution, excellent product knowledge and a good relationship with our customers. He is accomplished at driving product design initiatives and making a strong link with operations, quality and purchasing functions.”
