Terry Philpot

Philpot spent most of his working life within the crane industry and was possibly best known for being one of the first three ‘founding’ employees of Cranes UK, the Tadano Faun distributor for the UK and Ireland. He moved from Marubeni with Brian Crisp to join Joe Lyon in early 2002, to handle product support for the young company.

His ex-colleagues at Cranes UK issued a statement which perfectly sums up and represents the views of many in the UK crane industry who knew him:
“All the friends and colleagues of Terry Philpot, within the mobile crane industry, are deeply saddened to hear of his premature passing. He was a truly unique character and was very well known throughout the UK crane industry, having served the vast majority of his life within it and having worked for many of the manufacturers.”

“Though stricken with illness through the latter part of his life, he always managed a smile and a positive disposition. He will be sorely missed by us all.”

“Our thoughts and deepest sympathy go out to his wife, Christine and all of his family at this time.”

Rest in Peace Terry, your memory will live on with us.
