Entering the market in 1974 Liebherr took 20 years to deliver its 100th mobile harbour crane. With sales running at consistent pace of around 50 mobile cranes year it took just 11 years to deliver the next 400, handing over the 500th unit in 2005. The next 500 has taken just seven years, in spite of the worldwide recession, thanks in part to the introduction of new machines and increased demand.
Liebherr says that its bestselling model to date is the LHM 400 which it has accounted for over a quarter of the 1,000 LHMs supplied.
