Loxam invests in UK

Loxam UK has invested almost £9 million in new equipment over the past 12 months with the lion’s share – more than 100 machines out of a total of 215 - being delivered to its Wembley location in London.

As a result of this investment over 85 percent of Loxam UK’s fleet is now five years old or younger.

The bulk of the Wembley additions are Niftylift self-propelled boom lifts including the latest 63ft platform height Hybrid HR21’s aimed at an increasingly environmentally-focused customer base.

This has increased the Niftylift fleet at the branch from five units to more than 30, including the HR12, HR15 and HR21. The Niftylift HR15 Rough Terrain booms now include the SiOPS anti-crush safety system. The low weight of the Niftylift HR platforms is a particularly important factor when working in the big city, says Loxam.

Other new platforms include eight 12.5 metre van mounts on 3.5 tonne chassis aimed at increasing its London Emission Zone compliant vehicle mount market.

“The business plan has been to raise the quality of our service and safety to customers whilst retaining a value proposition,” said UK managing director Brian Stead. “The newer equipment has been instrumental in achieving some of the industry’s lowest breakdown ratios so that the customer service targets can be met.”

“Although the focus has been on the London branch, all branches throughout the UK have benefited from the investment in both additional fleet and specific investment in its people. The Loxam group has thrown its considerable weight behind transitioning Loxam access in the UK and as a result the current high quality performance will remain both consistent and sustainable in all locations.”
