Terex and Liebherr settle claims

The legal battle that came to a head at the start of last years Bauma, over the infringement of Terex Demag’s Sideways Superlift patents by the Liebherr Y-Guy system, has now been settled and all litigation between the two companies dropped.

The statement released by Terex, also refers to patents on the removal and assembly of counterweights on mobile and crawler cranes, suggesting that the two companies have agreed to allow a patent infringement by each of them to neutralise each other.

The two parties declined to discuss the details of the settlement but a Terex spokesman told Vertikal.Net that some financial settlement has occurred, but that both companies have agreed not to disclose any details.
