Hewden expands cranes and telehandler fleet
UK crane, access and telehandler rental company Hewden has purchased 50 new JCB telehandlers and two Terex All Terrain cranes.
The telehandlers range in size from seven to 17 metres. The two new Terex cranes – an 80 tonner and a 120 tonner - the latter of which extends the lifting capacity of Hewden’s fleet, which was previously limited to 100 tonnes.

Hewden has purchased two Terex AT cranes - an 80 tonner and a 120 tonner - which extends the lifting capacity which previously topped out at 100 tonnes.
Mark Hogg, product performance director at Hewden said: “We have selected the best products based on the clear preferences of our customers and are again working with best-in-class suppliers. Younger equipment is more technologically advanced and reliable, which ultimately equals more uptime for our customers and fewer breakdowns on site. We have seen the utilisation of our telehandlers remain consistent throughout the year, so now was the perfect time to invest.”

“The purchase of the 80 and 120 tonne units complements our existing crane fleet perfectly and means we can now cater for a more diverse range of lifting applications," he said. "Our level of investment is a clear indicator that we are determined to fill supply gaps in the market and provide a market leading service to our customers.”
The two cranes have been delivered and have already been out on hire. Full delivery of the telehandlers is due for completion in the next week or two.
