New Grove YardBoss

Grove is unveiling another new crane - the YardBoss YB5520 – at Bamua.

The 18 tonne industrial crane is said to be a complete redesign replacing the older 16 tonne YB5518, although it retains the same boom length and jib option. The crane is also the first to be fully CE certified with all other YB cranes CE certified by mid-2013.

Grove is unveiling another new crane - the YardBoss YB5520 – at Bamua.

The YB5520 has a 16.6 metre four-section, full-power boom and is available with two jib options - a 4.6 metre extension and a new adjustable 4.6 to 7.6 metre swingaway.

Footprint of the YB5520 is 4.6 by 2.4 metres, with an overall height of 2.5 metres. It has crab steering with self-alignment and pivoting boom nose – adjustable to five positions from minus 30 to 80 degrees.

Other features include a two speed hoist, a 3.3 litre, Euromot 3B Cummins diesel and ITL power shift transmission. A new outrigger monitoring system.

Also on the Manitowoc stand at Bauma is first production version of the Grove GMK6400 all-terrain crane.
