New CEO for Cargotec
Cargotec's has appointed Mika Vehviläinen as its new chief executive, effective March 1st. Vice chairman Tapio Hakakari will continue as the interim chief executive until then.
The position became vacant after the previous chief executive Mikael Mäkinen took over as president of the group’s Marine division prior to its flotation scheduled for later this year.

Mika Vehviläinen
Vehviläinen, 51, is currently chief executive of Finnair, he has previously held senior leadership positions at Nokia Siemens Networks having spent most of his career at Nokia including postings in the United States and in Asia.
Cargotec chairman Ilkka Herlin said: "During his successful international career, Vehviläinen has convincingly proven his leadership and result creating skills even during difficult circumstances. The board is certain that under his management Cargotec is well prepared to face the future changes and challenges."
Vehviläinen added: "The importance of transport and logistics will continue to increase in the future. Cargotec as the forerunner in cargo handling solutions offers an interesting challenge. I am excited to develop Cargotec business further, together with the whole personnel."
