IronPlanet wins defence bid
Online heavy equipment auction specialist IronPlanet says it is the highest bidder for a contract with the US Defence Logistics Agency (DLA) to manage and sell surplus rolling stock.
Bids were based on a percentage of the sales price of the items which IronPlanet estimates at $50-70 million a year. IronPlanet’s bid was equal to 75.29 percent revenue share to the DLA. The contract has a base term of two years with four one-year renewal options.
Rolling stock includes surplus cranes, tractors, generators, wheel loaders, trucks, trailers and other equipment. The contract is scheduled to commence in December 2014.

Thank you for bidding this contract. I have been buying from the DLA since 1968, Govliq made the process very cumbersome and unfriendly.
