Strong first quarter for Skyjack
The industrial division of Linamar, which is predominantly Skyjack, saw first quarter revenues rise over 31 percent to $180.38 million, while operating profits more than doubled, from $14.3 million last year to $30.3 million this year.
The company says that the sales increase was due to increased demand in for Skyjack products in both North America and Europe. Increased sales for its booms and telehandlers and favourable currency factors.
Linamar as a whole achieved a record result with just over a $billion in revenues - 23 percent up on the same period last year, while pre-tax profits improved 66 percent to $106 million.
Vertikal Comment
Another excellent result from Skyjack as it continues to gain market share in key markets for its scissor lifts, while gradually ramping up the volume of boom lift sales. The company looks well placed to become the third largest self-propelled aerial lift manufacturer behind JLG and Genie.
