New Genie booms
Last week Genie confirmed that it will launch two new articulated booms this summer, a new/upgraded 60ft class machine, and an all new lightweight model with a platform height in the region of 34 to 38ft.
The new 62ft Z-62/40 replaces the current Z-60/34 and will be available in all drive formats of the current 60/34, including 4x4 and Trax versions. The new unit will include the Genie's 'Fast Mast' dual riser which can be used independently of the top boom which can reach to the ground with the riser fully elevated, while also providing up to 1.68 metres of reach below ground level. the 1.52 metre jib now has 130 degrees of articulation compared to just 90 degrees on the machine it replaces.

The new machine has been designed to be easier to transport, with an overall stowed length with jib tucked under of 7.58 metres and overall weight of just under 10 tonnes. The new lit is also equipped with a Tier 4 Final power unit.
The smaller unit is likely to be aimed at the Niftylift HR12 and Snorkel AB38 market and built primarily for the European market. It is is also likely to adopt some features from JLG’s new H340AJ, and is almost certain to incorporate a hybrid or Bi-Energy power pack, for indoor/outdoor applications and possibly include a 4x4 version. Both new models will be unveiled at Apex in late June.
