Tree service fatality
A man working for a tree service company died on Friday, in Florida, after falling from an aerial lift he was using to trim trees.
The man, Eric Gillum, 39, was working at a height of around 45ft, in Gainsville, Florida, then the boom dropped suddenly, or the unit overturned. The boom landed on the cab of a vehicle bouncing him out of the platform, he landed on the sidewalk/pavement and died from the injuries he sustained.
Gillum is an employee of Advanced Tree Service, which owns a 52ft trailer lift which it pulls with a pick up truck, although we are not certain this is the lift involved. According to information we have received he was not wearing a harness at the time.
