NQ acquires CQ
Australia’s NQ Group of Brisbane has acquired CQ Group of Nebo, Queensland bringing two crane and heavy haulage businesses together.
The deal, which was completed on Monday evening provides NQ with a well established base in the Bowen Basin and a significant boost to the its ultra heavy haulage business. As part of the acquisition, NQ has retained CQ’s key employees and managers, in addition to the equipment and resources. The CQ location will give the combined business five locations NQ operates from Brisbane, Mackay and Mt Isa in Queensland plus Darwin in the Northern Territory.

The NQ fleet includes All Terrains up to 350 tonnes
NQ chief operating officer Brendan Webb said: “The acquisition of the heavy haulage and crane divisions of the CQ Group is a natural progression and aligned with the company’s growth strategy. The divisions acquired have great synergies with our existing business, as we have similar employee skills, equipment mix, customers and practices.”
NQ group director Matt Yapp added: “This acquisition will allow us to maximise our end-to-end offering for the benefit of our valued customers.”
