New training manager for Merritts

UK heavy lifting and haulage company Merritts has appointed Ian McArthur as its training manager.

McArthur will be responsible for arranging and developing existing courses as well as strategies for new courses and training modules. He will also be charged with carrying out future improvements.

McArthur is a certified CPCS validator and joins from Bobby Beveridge Training, where he spent two years as its training manager. Prior to that he was sales and marketing manager for Eco-Training for two years. He also worked for more than 20 years in various managerial roles in the rental sector, with companies such as HSS Hire, Hewden Plant, Hydrex Plant and Terebro Hire & Sales.

Merritts currently offers a range of training courses, including RTITB accredited forklift truck training, manual handling, lifting and slinging for overhead cranes, abrasive wheels, emergency aid, fire safety, lorry loader, safety awareness and ADR training.
