Fatal platform incident in UK

What at first seemed like a road accident, involving an aerial lift in Felixstowe, UK, may actually have been a work accident.

Details are scarce, but local news reports claim that Douglas Skinner, 67, fell from the platform after it was clipped by a truck while he was working on a sign at the entrance to SPR Trailer Services on Friday, he died later in hospital. Initial reports had seemed to suggest that a truck mounted lift had collided with a delivery truck on the road.

We are trying to find out more, and now understand that the Health & Safety Executive is investigating.
