UK Red diesel decision Wed 22 March

The Chancellor has announced the date for the 2006/7 Budget. It will be held on Wednesday March 22nd. During his speech which will confirm taxes and allowances for the forthcoming year.

The final decision on which vehicles will be allowed to continue to use Red diesel, will be among the announcements.

This leaves around a month for last minute lobbying by the aerial platform industry. In its November policy statement the treasury said that it was minded to allow mobile cranes to continue to use the cheap diesel, as long as truck mounted aerial work platforms were excluded.
