Dublin double ladder – and van..

A reader spotted two men painting the outside of a building in central Dublin yesterday using a van and ladder combination.

Van blocking the walkway and ladder on the van roof Death Wish or what?

The van is parked on the pavement/sidewalk, making it difficult for pedestrians to get through and at least one of the ladders is resting on the roof of the van. As its that was not bad enough the man is standing on the highest rung but one in a position that is highly precarious.

A closer look

In the words of our reader: “Seen in Dublin today , painters on ladders , ladders on Transit Roof , Transit blocking Footpath .. One painter above the other painting away ... ( I'll go high you'll go low ) Oh and I see a wee set of steps on the roof too ...
There must of been another painter too .. Some people don't give a dam what it takes to get the job done .. Unbelievable .. No regard for pedestrians”
We agree with him, the one man in particular is in a very vulnerable position and if he fell could easily land on a pedestrian resulting in a fatality. All for the sake of a small van mounted lift, or proper scaffold tower.

One of the men loads up on the top the van, hopefully avoiding dislodging his colleague's ladder

Definitely one for our Death Wish series
