Strike hits Liebherr

Germany's powerful IG Metall union called workers at Liebherr's Ehingen mobile crane factory out on strike today as part of its ongoing national campaign for pay rises in the engineering sector.

The strike is part of a series of temporary stoppages hitting the engineering sector in southern germany. Liebherr's tower crane factory in Biberach was closed for a day earlier this month.
