Roland Hammer joins Manitowoc
Crane veteran Roland Hammer has joined Manitowoc as director of strategic accounts, handling specific accounts in the Americas. Hammer, moved to the USA with Liebherr helping set up the company’s first operations there. More recently he was working with Terex Demag, a German by birth, Hammer has spent most of his working life working for German crane makers in America.
Hammer will represent the complete range of Manitowoc Crane Group products, comprising Grove mobile cranes, Manitowoc crawler cranes, National boom trucks, and Potain tower cranes.
He will report to David Birkhauser, senior vice president of sales for the Americas.
“Roland is well-known throughout the industry in North America and we’re delighted to welcome him to our team,” Birkhauser said. “He has over 30 years experience in the business and has held senior management positions with a variety of major crane companies in disciplines ranging from sales and marketing through to design. He is a real asset to our company.”
