Raimondi S.I.M.E merger

Italian tower crane producer Raimondi has merged with tower crane rental company S.M.I.E to form the Raimondi - S.I.M.E.Group. Precise details of the transaction have not been provided.

The S.M.I.E fleet is largely made up of Raimondi cranes and the two already have close commercial links, as S.M.I.E is the Raimondi dealer in Bologna.

A director of the S.M.I.E group. Enrico Natella, has been appointed as general manager of the merged company. SIME claim to bring strong financial and organisational skills to the business along with a “modern vision and commercial strategy” While Raimondi brings its strong manufacturing and design skills.

The merged entity will continue to rent tower cranes within Italy. Raimondi will continue as a manufacturer. The group anticipates savings and synergies within the administration area.

Raimondi has been distributed in the UK for many years by Vanson cranes, which uses the Raivan brand. In Ireland it is Irish crane & Lifting Ltd.
